Cone-Beam Computed Tomography - CBCT

We perform Cone-Beam Computed Tomography Examinations of teeth and jaw bones.

Depending on indications we offer large field of view CBCT (only at Głęboka Street) as well as medium and small field of view CBCT (both at Solarza Street and Głęboka Street).

Description of the fields of view in CBCT:
Field of view: 5x5 cm or 5x3.7 cm
Slice thickness: 0.09 mm or 0.076 mm
Region of interest: several adjacent teeth eg. from 15 to 25
Examples of indications: diagnostics of root fractures
  • evaluation of impacted teeth (ankylosis, resorption)
  • Periapical lesions and endodontic treatment
  • Planning of one or several implants
Field of view: 10x5 cm
Slice thickness:
0.18 mm
Region of interest:
all maxillary teeth or all mandibular teeth together with alveolar process
Examples of indications:
  • Planning of a higher number of implants
  • Evaluation of localisation of multiple impacted teeth
Field of view: 8x8 cm (only at Solarza Str. 1)
Slice thickness:
0.18 mm
Region of interest:
all maxillary and mandibular teeth with alveolar processes, maxillary sinuses and a part of sphenoidal sinus
Examples of indications:
  • Planning of a higher number of implants
  • Jaw lesions
Field of view: 8x8 cm (only at Solarza Str. 1)
Slice thickness:
0.18 mm
Region of interest:
one temporomandibular joint with temporal bone
Examples of indications:
  • Lesions of the temporomandibular joint
  • Lesions of pyramid of temporal bone
Field of view: 10x10 cm (only at Solarza Str. 1)
Slice thickness:
0.18 mm
Region of interest:
all maxillary and mandibular teeth together with maxillary sinuses, without temporomandibular joints
Examples of indications:
  • Planning of a higher number of implants
  • Large lesions of the jaw bones

Field of view: 15 cm (only at Głęboka Str. 10)
Slice thickness: 0.3 mm
Region of interest: all maxillary and mandibular teeth, whole mandible, midfacial skeleton, both temporomandibular joints
Examples of indications:

  • Pathologies of paranasal sinuses
  • Simultaneous imaging of 2 temporomandibular joints
  • Extensive lesions of the jaw bones

CBCT result consists of three elements:

  • Print-out of the most important images from the study.
  • CD-R containing all images from the study together with a dedicated image viewer operating in MS Windows.
  • Written report prepared by radiologist specialized in dentomaxillofacial imaging.

According to the legal regulations a written prescription from a dentist or medical doctor is required for all radiographs taken in Poland, apart from ”small” dental X-rays.

Dental radiographs other than intraoral are reported by a specialist in radiology or by a dentist who had been suitably trained in dentomaxillofacial radiology. However, legal regulations do not state what “suitable training” means regarding a dentist.
